Mobile Counter Fire System

The TSi Mobile Counter Fire System (MCFS), developed for the US Marines in collaboration with the US Army's TACOM-ARDEC Advanced Drives and Stabilization Lab (ADAWS) in Picatinny Arsenal , NJ , is a mobile, vehicle-based system that enables rapid detection and defeat of hostile fire threats.

MCFS is comprised of an acoustic sensing system to detect the direction of hostile fires, a fire control system with vehicle navigation sub system to manage the detected threat coordinates and compensate for the effects of vehicle motion, and an electric gun mount with integral day and night video cameras for automatic slew to cue operation. Target identification and gun firing are under full control of the system operator at all times.

Features of MCFS

  • Superior capability to detect and defeat hostile fire from within confines of vehicle armor
  • Automatic threat fire detection and gun system slewing
  • Improved situational awareness by means of gun mounted day (and optionally night) camera video
  • Provides protection for single vehicles, multiple vehicle convoys and fixed assets.
