Mobile Counter Fire System
The
TSi Mobile Counter Fire System (MCFS),
developed for the US Marines in collaboration
with the US Army's TACOM-ARDEC Advanced Drives and Stabilization Lab (ADAWS)
in Picatinny Arsenal , NJ , is a mobile, vehicle-based system that enables
rapid detection and defeat of hostile fire threats.
MCFS
is comprised of an acoustic sensing system to detect the direction of
hostile fires, a fire control system with vehicle navigation sub system
to manage the detected threat coordinates and compensate for the effects
of vehicle motion, and an electric gun mount with integral day and night
video cameras for automatic slew to cue operation. Target identification
and gun firing are under full control of the system operator at all times.
